14 month concerns

DS babbles but doesn’t make words yet though he’ll walk around the house having conversation with me and at the toys he’s playing with. I think he understands a couple of commands. He will bring me toys. He will reach to be picked up and let me know when he needs something e.g. hold the door handle and look at me to open it. He plays with lots of different toys and mostly appropriately. He will respond to name but touch and go. He doesn’t gesture yet which is a concern. He moves his arm occasionally to signify a point. He doesn’t follow my gaze but does objects. He can feed himself (starting with a spoon now) drink from cup and can occasionally stack blocks but won’t engage with me in activity for very long long at all. He will bring me books to read. My biggest concern is he doesn’t really copy e.g if I press a button he doesn’t copy it or if I make sounds he doesn’t imitate them. I’m concerned. Please offer any thoughts....

It all sounds really, really normal to me OP, he's so little still.

Sounds exactly like my 15 month old son except he does point and I'm not convinced he follows commands! I actually raised this with his nursery and they said they've got no concerns whatsoever about him and he seems like a very 'normal' baby in terms of development (apart from being a late walker and very lively!). That reassured me. If there's no progress by 18 months I'll probably seek advice from HV but otherwise I'm going to just let him be and not worry.
