I miss you mummy

My 6 year old, nearly 7, doesn’t want to go to school as she says she misses me.
This has been going on since September and she’s adamant that it’s just because she misses me, I’m a sahp and she always wants to be with me, she won’t go anywhere in the house without me (bathroom, upstairs etc) if she’s left in the living room she comes and finds me after 10 mins saying she’s lonely.
She already takes my scarf to school to wear at the moment. School says she is fine when she’s there.
I’ve asked her how we can help her not to miss me using the day but she says she doesn’t know either.
She doesn’t make friends easy as she doesn’t want to play the games her fellow students are playing, she wants to play what she wants to play. She’s also very fickle and seems to move round her classmates quickly when she does have someone to play with.

I have no idea how to help her, does anyone have any suggestion please?

Have you spoken to her form teacher OP to see if they have any suggestions or concerns?

Some of her behaviour does seem a little unusual, have you ever spoken to the school's SENCO?

Her form teacher is the school senco and she hasn’t voiced any concerns although I will be going in for a chat if it doesn’t get better in the next couple of weeks.

Not understanding how to make friends, anxiety and an over reliance on you could all be flags for ASD.

I'm just sone random on the internet with no training though, but if she were mine, I'd be pushing for some kind of formal assessment.

I already have concerns but I’ve been thinking down the route if dyspraxia as she is extremely clumsy, and various other symptoms. She has seen a paediatrician but he didn’t seem to think she was dyspraxic and has asked for her to be seen by occupation therapist.

We are just beginning the process of having our DD assessed for ASD/ADD.

If I'm honest I really wish I'd pushed for assessment much earlier. I knew something was wrong but kept being told there was no problem because she behaved in school. Now I know that a lot of girls with ASD can mask it at school.

That’s interesting to hear Julie, how old is your daughter?

She's 12 now but I think I first started raising my concerns with the school at about 7.

The school have only got interested when my DD's hormones have kicked in and she's no longer always able to "mask" at school.
