Anyone had this grey tinge? Is it really wind?

Cropped the picture but DS has a slight grey tinge around his mouth (lips and gums pink and normal and all rest of skin pink and normal). Midwife has said it’s wind - he has been very grouchy and I can seem to get him to burp so I think he definitely does have wind.
But I’m just surprised wind can change skin colour? Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this with their newborn.

Health visitor is coming tomorrow so I will talk to her about it too.

I don’t know if you can see it in the picture - he’s very fair and it’s very slight.

I was told on special care where my son and daughter was that a grey/white above the lip is wind, any concerns though see your gp.

Thank you I’ll mention it to HV tomorrow and then book a gp appointment if I think I need to

Health visitor and midwife have said it’s wind and it’s not constant so hopefully they’re right

I have to say I can’t find any science based evidence that it IS wind. I can’t really fathom how it would make skin change colour

Yeah, I was told that’s normal when my daughter was younger by my MIL and also my great aunt. I checked with the HV and she agreed and said it’s common when they have trapped wind.

My DD would develop a blue/grey tinge from her bottom lip down to her chin if windy. Soon dissipated after a burp or 20.

When your DC had it was it present most of the time or did it come and go?
I struggle to get burps out of DS I think he’s more of a farter! 🙈
