ADHD ASD A.N other first assessment

My three year old has his first paediatric consultant appointment/ assessment on Tuesday with regard to his behavioural/ developmental issues.

It came through much quicker than I had anticipated and while I'm really pleased about that I'm incredibly apprehensive too.

Does anyone know what will happen during the appointment?

If it's the first appointment with a development paediatrian then it will be them talking to you about his behaviour, possibly go through a few screener questions like those found on the MCHAT, maybe briefly observe him playing (they will be toys there) and interact with him. Depending on what he sees/hears he might refer him for a full assessment at a later date (a full assessment like the ADOS normally requires a panel of clinicians to observe and interact with him over a number of days).
