"Attached Parenting"

I'm interested to see what people think of this method of parenting.

Why?

Jus wondered about people's opinions because it differs so much that's all !

Can you explain what your understanding of attached parenting is and what you're comparing it to?

I think you might have to tell us a bit more about yourself and why you want to know OP. You don't have to of course but at the moment you just sound like a rather hapless journo.

Aww no definitely not a journo lol, I'm just intreagued as most of the parents I know do not practice attached parenting like myself and think I'm crazy for doing it with my kids, suppose I just wanted to hear from other attached parents. Prob wrong title

It depends on how you are defining it. I'm sure others think they're practicing the same thing until you both describe what you're doing and find out it's totally different.

Attached parenting means lots of different things to different people. What do you mean by it?

I would say I did a fairly attached type of parenting. I coslept with DD until she was 2 and a half, and didn’t completely stop breastfeeding till she was nearly 3. I hardly ever carried her in a sling though, she HATED to have her arms confined.

For me, it just seemed the most natural way. It worked well for us, and I think I would have had a major battle doing things differently, and I couldn’t really see the point of having that battle. For others, I assume they don’t like it so do things another way.
