My son who is 30 months old is just like this. He follows me to the bathroom and will not allow his father to do anything for him at all. It does wear you down after a while but giving up work is not the solution. It is good for little ones to be looked after by a variety of friends and family and this is were I made the mistake. My husband was not a very hands on dad at the start and I did everything for my son. I don't think it's down to a lack of confidence but your daughter may not yet have realised that she can trust anyone apart from you. I'm sure this is just a stage they all go through and if you just persevere it will pass in time.

My ds has this daddy worship thing going on at the moment too...he's two and a half. After having a daddy's girl I was hoping for a mummy's boy - but it seems he'd rather have dad most of the time too!

Sometimes he'll refuse to let me do something, because he wants my dh to do it ("NO! Daddy!" - in other words not you, I want daddy!) and will actually push me away! It's very hurtful to me, plus it makes my dh crazy after a while!

It's not all the time, I guess, so most of the time I have a happy cooperative boy full of smiles (don't worry he can throw a tantrum with the best of 'em though!)...I guess I should be grateful I have a dh who is willing to help and do all this stuff with/for him!

But it does seem to be a common thing around this age - interesting!
