am not a mum, but have done childcare for many years, am devoted godparent/aunt to many. Have a 17mo darling who I'm ever so worried about - missing developmental milestones in all areas I have her a full day and couple of evenings a week and just not seeing progress. any advice?

what sort of "milestones" are you talking about??

walking, understanding/recognising words, talking, pincer grip -she's at nursery 4 days a week so lots of contact with other toddlers.

I'm just so used to them being sponges at that age and she's just not that.

happy and bright but not really engaging.

I know all the stuff that professionals come out with - in her own time etc but there is just something that worries me.

DS1 didn't walk until he was 18 months, didn't really "talk" until he was just over 2yrs old and he fine motor skills didn't really develop properly until he was at the end of nursery (4yrs old)....he's now about to go into yr2 and is doing really well at school.

thanks - it's so hard when you are so close!

I'm a worrier by nature
