mattress protectors- won't it just slip off??

I read on one of the bedwetting threads about the mattress protector from www.toysrus.co.uk
ref 187410 £12.99
and it looks v useful, but from the pic it doesn't look like it's attached to the bed at all. Is there anything attaching it? I don't want to get one and find that it just slips off before she's even gone off to sleep!! Also, if she were to take it to a friend's for staying over - just in case - do you think the friend would laugh at her?? (we're talking 6 yr olds). Thanks for any advice.

is that the one that is plastic-y on one side and sheeting on the other? If it is then they don't slip off and they save you a hell of a lot of washing

It cannot be as embarrassing as the heavy guage plastic sheet that my grandma used to put on the bed when I came to stay and I didn't even used to wet the bed

It sounds vey useful

We have one of these and it stays on a lot better than you would expect. It was also very useful during potty training if dd fell asleep on the settee we could just slip it underneath her.

We have something similar and use it on top of the mattrass pad and under the fitted sheet. It stays in place, no problem, even when DD is wriggling. Even though she almost never has accidents anymore, we keep it on, just in case.

If you're concerned about friends and sleep overs, why not have a quiet word with the friend's mom and ask her to make up the bed your daughter will be sleeping in with the pad under the fitted sheet before they go to bed (i.e., before friend sees it ...) Then, no one need be the wiser.
