Drama and Dance class for a 3 yrs old...

My 2.10 yrs old DD is just getting funnier and funnier by the day as whilst we were camping (Thats where i was but not where i lost the ring) she was so desperate to get on the stage all by herself so i said "go on then"..she took off like a rocket and was dancing in front of a few people that were there She aint got a shy bone in her body at all!!. Also she learnt Tia Chi on the stage with the expert and a few people - she loves it. (the expert thought she was 4 as she is tall). She grab anyone to say Hiya.

A few people and us had said that whilst her confidence is strong and high, thinking of putting her in a Drama and Dance class once she turn 3..

Will her confidence will always be strong? as she had been like this since literally from birth and is it down to us to keep her confidence strong?

will swimming be good for her confidence too? as she loves swimming

same as my dd now aged 7, yes she will probably lose a bit of confidence, but not all of it, nuture it if you can-any extracuriculum(sp) activities will be good for her, just not too many at a time. although i tried to get dd into drama and nowhere would take her till she's 8 or 9

Stagecoach will take a 3yo IIRC.

It's quite expensive tho but you may well think it's worth it.

Dance classes will take 2[3yos tho IMHO there's not much point before 3.5 at least as they won't pay attention before then. Same for swimming lessons.

Why not inquire of a few in yr area?

My DD also has bags of confidence and loves the stage. She has just started ballet/time and mime and ran in to the class waving at me. I too think 3.5 ideal as they are more than likely happy to leave you and will also pay attention. As for confidence always being strong, it is difficult to predict. My DD has also appeared confident from "birth" too but I do wonder what experiences in life with other people and situations will knock and maybe dent this. It is too early to see but it is certainly a great asset to have and nurture.

biglips you will find a few different dance groups etc, we are putitng H in one when she is 2 n half just for the fun. If you look in local shop windows, echo or even phone a few from yellow pages.

oh and swimming will also be a good confidence booster, A loves it and the fact he can swim is great when we go away etc.

there's a dance group for toddlers at the Merseyside Dance Initiative place on Hope St in the city centre.
