My 6 year old DS is now becoming uncontrollably rude, mainly towards us (Myself and DF) His behaviour is becoming uncontrollable and bribary, treats, money, job chart etc is just not working. Ive tried everything from Kindness to Raging Bull, Explanations as to why its wrong to reply to 'Goodnight DS' with 'Fat Face' and 'Poo Butt' and when told that was not a nice way to reply, and that farting and laughing was not a valuable contribution to said discussion and there would be no sweets tomorrow if the behaviour continued he called me a 'Big Fat Pooey Butt'
Charmed, im sure
Where this may be amusing in a few years time, im on the brink of an emotional breakdown and simply cant handle all of this right now.
Need a sane angle.... HELP!!!!

Can't help you - getting it from ds2 who is almost 5. I just put him in his room, I can't be doing with it.

Well, Gobbledigook, at least we can have a meltdown together. Straight Jacket Anyone?

You just don't know how to respond do you? It's a phase, honestly, it must be....mustn't it????!!!!

Sorry to tell you this, but you have given birth to boys, and this is the way they like to behave. The thing is they will pick up pretty quickly that they can't talk to the teacher or granny like this, and will only do it at home. Which will make you even more infuriated!

FireFaerie · 15/08/2007 21:23

I hate it when someone comes along and tells me exactly what i DONT want to hear, especially when i know they are right
Is there ANY hope MrsScavo? or are we doomed til they start thinking of girls instead of driving us mental?

I'm not sure if there is any hope. I've lost count of the times my boys have called each other "idiot bum head" during the summer holidays. I now ignor it, as like you, nothing seems to work. Sorry.

Girls are no better!! My DD1 is 5yrs old and her favourite game is to call me "Poo head", "big bum face" and other such flattering words. lol
When we are at home in private then i turn it into a game and pretend to spank her bum.
In publin i just give her a hard stare and just say "not now" and she usually understands.
If its happening at home, best to make a game out of it, as long as he understands that in public its not allowed.

My son's favourite at the moment is "bumcrack", it really makes me remember why I didnt like boys at school. He also seems to spend a lot of time waving his willy around, I used to get annoyed now I just try to look scornful.

I did think I had particulary bad PMT this week then DS spent a day at his friends house and I felt wonderful so I now realise so much togetherness over the holiday is just erasing my sanity.
