My 8 month old dd is constantly looking at her hands, she moves them about in front of her face all the time and stares at them for ages.
I have read online thah this can be an early sign on autism and now i am completely paranoid.
Is this normal or can it be a sign of autism?
Shes also behind on her motor skills according to health visitor. She doesn't crawl or roll to get around. She can roll as has done it a few times before but not very often and doesnt attempt to move by rolling.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does she do anything else like that? My daughter is 6 months and she looks at her hands and started opening and closing her legs constantly when lying down whilst looking at her hand and the GP told me it was gratifying behaviour....

Hi, my LO is 8 months old and is similar to how you deacribed your daughter. I was wondering how is she doing now? I hope everything turned out well :)

I just wanted to update on my comment to say that my daughter received her Autism
Diagnosis at 5yrs old. But we knew early on she was 'different'.

Thanks for taking the time to update this post @Elmo311. Hope you and your daughter are well. I’m having some concerns about my little boy and it’s interesting to read that you had an inkling early on about your daughter. Everyone keeps telling me it’s too early to tell but I can’t shake off this feeling.

Thanks for updating! Was there anything else your baby did that now was a clear sign? My baby does the same thing at 7 months so I’ve been very curious.
