Is my 6yo the only one in the world who can't wipe her own bum?

I'm sure my mum wasn't still wiping mine when I was 6.5. Getting very fed up of having to run upstairs to wipe her bum.

I've tried telling her to have a try herself and I'll inspect. This worked for a day and then she gave up. I probably need to stand my ground more and refuse to do it but she goes into meltdown and anything for a quiet life I cave in. I've explained to her over and over again what needs to be done. Have done it with my hand over hers. There's no earthly reason why she can't do it but she won't.

She doesn't poo at school if she can help it, comes running in desperate for a poo. If she does go at schoo lshe comes back with a sore bum and mucky knickers. Arghhhhhhhh.

yes I would think she is.

Mine doesn't either but she has constipation and soiling problems so sort of understandable. Sometimes the mess is too much for her to do on her own

No of course she isnt.

I actually think it is quite difficult to do esp to get it clean.

My ds is 5 and I am sure I will wipe his bum for years yet!

Why not get some nice bottom wipes and do a reward chart if it bothers you.

No you're not alone ! Mine is 6.5 too and much prefers me to wipe her with a wipe ! She does just about manage at school but we have lots of skid marks.

She doesn't always call me though - probably coz I usually ignore her and she gets fed up waiting - but if she has a bit of a dodgy poo she alwasy insists !

6.5 isn't that old really is it ?

I really wasn't sure if she should be doing her own by now or not. As long as she's not the only one though thats ok We have cando wipes.

Dd is 6 and I still have to wipe her bottom more often than not.

But she has had all kinds of pooing issues, and it's not so long ago that she was refusing to poo in the toilet at all, so wiping her bottom is a small price to pay for her using the toilet of her own volition!

wen dd was 7 i told her she had to do it herself.
none of mine poo at school either!
