Please help! My 7 month old was an angel a week ago and something has flipped this week! She just won’t stop whinging. There’s nothing she needs, she feeds well around the clock and is napping 2-3 times a day.

She whinges and cries all day! It’s 8:21 and I’ve been dealing with it since 6:45 and already exhausted! I can’t leave her alone at all and even when she’s in her high chair eating she’s just whining after each mouthful!

It absolutely rattles my bones! When will it end!?

We’re also going to Canada on Saturday to visit family and I’m dreading her on the plane! At least the engines will drown it out a little

Have you consider that she might be teething and in pain?

Oh god my nearly 1 year old was like this at 7 months. I honestly felt like I was going to lose my mind listening to it. I seemed be a combination of teething and frustration about not being as mobile as he wanted to be. It will end but Flowers Wine Cake in the mean time!

My boy was like this for aaaaaages! Oh the whining. It really gets to you! I think it was a combination of teething, frustration, and confusion about the world in general (Mental growth spurts, or 'leaps'. Good luck. It's v v v hard.

Thanks all - DD was a bit better today after dosing her on teething sachets. Still not the happy cherub she usually is though.

I actually noticed for the first time today that she was whining while fixated on a toy at the other side of the room. I picked it up for her and she went all happy! Maybe I need to be a bit more aware that she is frustrated that she isn't mobile. I'll just let the housework slide for a bit and eat lots of cake!

Yep, mine has been doing this since 5 months - when she learnt to sit up and could suddenly see all the stuff she wanted but couldn’t get to.

She’s now 9.5 months and STILL moaning ALL day because she won’t even try to crawl (pukes when on her tummy so won’t lunge forwards). I’ve learnt to tune out the lower level whining so long as she’s fed, changed, napped and pain-free and just make sure she gets out in the buggy at least once a day to give her stuff to look at.

I’m sure yours will figure out mobility soon though; most of DD’s baby friends did by about 8 months 👍🏻
