Dd (9) is utterly terrified of spiders. Not just the huge ones that most people dislike, but also the tiniest tiny ones.
I know loads of people hate spiders, but usually it's only the leggier, bigger ones. I don't like those either. As a family we've got a pretty healthy tolerance of insects & bugs, so we haven't brought her up to be like this. She doesn't mind other creatures - things many other people would fuss about.
I have tried reasoning with her that the tiny ones can't do her any harm, but she's convinced that she's been bitten by one before.
We've had a couple of incidents when a tiny spider has appeared in my car when we're driving. She's completely freaked out.
Any tips on how to help her? She is truly terrified when she sees one.
