took dd to tumble tots for the first time today. she's 15 months. She didn't seem to like it much really and resisted doing most of the course. When everyone sat in a circle to do the singing and movements she squirmed and cried and wanted to run around (all the other children were sitting nicely). Would love to join and hoping she'll start to like going. Did anyone elses child not like it at first and maybe grew to like it? All the other children in the class seemed to enjoy it and there were a lot who were her age. Shall I carry on taking her?

Bonniej, I think it just takes some getting used to. Its probably the first place you take them where they are expected to sit still. In time she will get the hang of it and I do think it is good to get them used to sitting in a circle and listening. Both mine loved it - did she enjoy the climbing bit??

Not at first, but she got a bit braver towards the end. She wasn't too keen on the ladders but liked the big rollers that she laid on. The thing was she liked those so much she wanted to stay on them and threw a wobbly when I had to move her on. I really enjoyed it and was exhausted by the time I got home so it's good exercise for us at least! The only other thing was I didn't know any of the songs and rhymes they sang. All the ones I do with dd must be out of date.

Hah! believe me the words to those songs will soon ring in your ears all the bl**dy time .

Mine are well over TT age now, but I can still remember all the songs!

You can buy videos and tapes. IN fact if you CAT me I will bundle up some TT videos and send them to you!

Think they do a class for crawling to walking called Gymbabes. All info on website tumbletots.co.uk.

hazlinh - there is a class aimed at crawling to walking called Gymbabes. I took my DD there at 6 months. At the time she wasn't crawling but was very active. on her feet a lot and walking holding my hands. She loved Gymbabes.

Hi bonniej sorry I haven't replied to your other message been snowed under with party preparations and revision!

DD goes to tumbletots and has been going for almost two years. She never joined in with circle time for ages but always loved all the jumping and climbing. To this day she doesn't join in with the songs at the beginning but does at the end - I think that is because she wants a sticker.

I wouldn't worry if she found it hard work afterall getting used to doing things in a sequence is odd if you hou have never done it before. My dd used to run all over the place. Focus on the fact that there were things she enjoyed!
