2 year old development worry

Hi all,
I don't really want to list all my concerns as I'm due the 2 year check so will be raising them there and pushing for referrals.
More looking for moral support from those who have been through the very worrying time when development is going the way it should be.
All my friends kids who are similar age are saying most complex things and we haven't even had 'mumma' here.
Just finding it all really terrifying and feel like no one I know can relate.
Thanks

Some children are just later to talk OP. My nephew did not speak till he was well over 3. He did get speech therapy. He's 5 now and fine.

It's like anything...some are faster to learn to walk...when they're older, they're all different in other ways...my DD is amazing at art...her sister took WAY longer to get her art skills up to speed...she was quite behind in her skills. Now she's 11 they've shot ahead.

Same DD took a long time to become a fluent reader but could talk your leg off.

Speech delays are very common at this age, they tend to clear up by themselves or with some speech therapy - if a speech delay is your only development concern but he still communicates effectively using gestures and other joint attention methods then I don't think there is anything to worry about.
