DD will not sleep!

DD2 is 13 months old, her sleep on a night is getting worse. It's getting to the point DP and I are barley getting any sleep.

Bedtime is around 6-7pm, that's if she hasn't had a nap after 2pm which is rare. She is literally up every 5-10 minutes crying. So she ends up in our bed but still cries every 5-10 minutes.

Last night she went to bed at 6pm. Woke up at 6:45pm and would not go back to sleep. She stayed awake till 9:30pm and then went back to sleep then cried on and off all night. Any tips or suggestions? We are very tired all the time. DP is worn out.

That does sound a bit extreme. How do you settle her when she cries? Could she be teething?

MotherOfLittlePeople · 25/08/2019 09:58

Yes she is teething but this has been going on for months and is only getting worse.

We settle her by picking her up and giving her a cuddle or her laying next to us in bed.

I have noticed all her teeth seem to be coming through at once. Just praying this passes soon as we are desperate for just one full nights sleep.

Does she sleep if she's in your bed OP and have you tried her with a dose of ibruprofen?

MotherOfLittlePeople · 25/08/2019 22:05

@JiltedJohnsJulie not all the time. Most of the time she still does the crying every 5-10 minutes. I have put the travel cot up downstairs tonight and I am on the sofa just so DP can hopefully get a full nights sleep.

No we only give her calpol. So she has had calpol before bed tonight which she actually went to bed a bit early, about 5:45pm and I bought some of the little angels sleep massage spray to try. So far she's only cried 3 times which is less than usual. She has two back teeth on the bottom coming through or partly through and one top back tooth and two at the front.

Hoping for a better night for us all.

Glad you had some sleep after the Calpol. I'd get sone Ibuprofen today, it's much better than paracetamol for dental pain. Are you using a teething gel too?

MotherOfLittlePeople · 26/08/2019 08:37

She slept from about 9:30 till 6am with no crying! So we got more sleep but I must admit I got up a few times to check on her as I then worried because she wasn't up so much 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I will get some today. No we don't use any teething gels x
