Hi

My little one is 2.5 and he goes to nursery 2 days a week. He can get a bit emotional when something doesn’t go his way or when told no (not always- but think that’s normal) however with toys if he’s playing with something he hates it if someone disrupts what he is doing or his play -for example he likes lining up cars and trains and if anyone disrupts it he gets really upset to the point where he sometimes will bite or push or just cry at the other child . but if you sat him down with another child and asked him to share the toys he would. It’s like he gets in a zone and doesn’t want anyone to ruin it. Nursery say he likes playing alone a lot too in his own space. Is this normal or should I be worried about anything in his behaviour?

It can be difficult to know what's normal toddler behaviour and what is a bit more unusual but if Nursery are saying it's unusual, it's certainly worth looking into.

Have Nursery or the HV suggested doing the m-chat?

It's probably worth doing the [] https://www.talkingpoint.org.uk/node/394/take Talking Point progress checker too]] Smile

Thank you - I’ve seen that before and it flags no concerns whatsoever for him. He does everything he should do.

nursery weren’t really saying if it was odd just said he preferred his own space and didn’t like it disrupted. It’s really hard to know!
