Hi I'm so confused hv says feed on demand my 5 wk old.

He's taking 4 to 5 oz every 2.5 to 3 hrs sometimes 4 hrs.
Recently he's started crying lots like in pain with wind maybe colic.
The hv says keep as i am on demand feeding but then another said I must reduce reduce the ozs it's far too much and I'm overfeeding him. So confused !

Re the wind, we used infacol with every feed before giving milk, to help the wind and so colic was not developed, it's definitely worth investing it.

Have you tried the anti colic bottles?

As for the feeding, you ate right to feed on demand. Where you are gong or BFing the current advice is to feed your baby on their cues.

Was the second HV concerned with the total amount your LO was having?

Baby should be having roughly 2.5 floz per pound in weight, so a 10lb baby could get roughly 25 floz in 24 hours. Is your baby getting the more or less than this?
