8.5 month old dropping a feed ADVICE PLEASE

So my LO is 8.5 months old. Has 3 meals a day and used to have 3 bottles however the past few days she is completely refusing her 2.30pm bottle and her night one is hit and miss ( last night she only had 100mls and she used to have 240)

Yesterday she only had like 380mls and today so far shes only had 200mls. She screams the place down and I cant force it on her. I don't think its teething as her morning bottle she always had nicely.

She probably isn't hungry. I honestly don't see your problem.

If you want her to drink more milk, feed her less so she's hungry. Or just mix some formula into her meals so that she gets the nutrients.

Smartplay they are supposed to have atleast 500mls until they are 1.

And I struggle to put in in food as she has solids and not mash foods

" they are supposed to have atleast 500mls until they are 1."

Really? Why? Who says that? Never heard of that.
They need the nutrients. Shouldn't matter if they get them from food or milk.

NHS website, formula tins, vitamin drops for babies........

My 8.5 month old did that too about a month ago and doing it again now - for her it is teething though. She takes her morning bottle just fine too but I think that must be because she’s so hungry and thirsty when she wakes up that it overrides the pain for a bit. Maybe try some calpol half an hour before a feed just in case yours is the same?

@LaurenSarah22
Thanks. Do you have a link for the NHS recommendation? I couldn't find anything.

Mine goes through phases like that (he's almost 10 months). Some days he won't drink 500ml (16oz) of formula, but some days he'll drink more. Today he guzzled 8oz at breakfast, 6oz at 3 and 7oz at bedtime (21oz). Two days ago he had only 14oz.

If she's getting a well balanced diet, then the odd day of reduced milk feeds shouldn't be too much of a worry. Otherwise, how are you feeding her? We had to give up feeding DS in our arms, he gets all his bottles in his highchair (unless he gets one overnight, then it's in arms). Are you offering food then milk, or milk then food? At around 9 months, you can switch to food first, maybe that's what she's holding out for?

Mine goes through phases like this too, of not wanting some milk. It could be teething, or sometimes they just aren't hungry. Do you feed the bottle before giving food? As that way she won't fill up on food and will likely have more milk.

My DD did the same thing and our health visitor said not to worry too much, make sure she was getting full fat dairy elsewhere eg. Cheese, yoghurt, milk on cereal/porridge and just to use vitamin drops if she dropped below 15oz
