13 month meltdowns

Hi all

Anyone experiencing quite dramatic "melt downs" with their little ones at 13 months?

I stopped my DD from pulling up the foam floor tiles, this morning, and lo and behold she just snapped. I totally wasn't expecting her reaction? A bottle of milk seemed to soothe her, but then she stopped half way through and continued to cry hysterically....on the floor, head down 😟

All I could do was sit near her and calmly/softly speak to her, caress her back if she wanted me to (she didn't btw that seemed to set her off more 🤷🏽‍♀️). My last resort was to put her down for a nap - she was reluctant at first but shortly dozed off. I'm now guessing perhaps she was overtired?

Frustrating for her, she has so little vocabulary 🤔 However, this random crying can also just happen out of the blue??

Any other advice/tips appreciated thanks! 😊

My 10 month old little boy has been having tantrums for the past month, whenever I don't let him do something he wants to do. He tried to steal a baby's piece of cheese at a baby group this morning so I moved him away (he's allergic) and he had a proper meltdown. I don't have any answers... apparently it's just a phase they go through and it will last a while. I'm trying to make our house a 'yes' house as much as possible- ie make it safe for him to crawl around and do what he likes so I don't have to say no to him every 5 minutes.
