behaviour problems started with new nanny

Hello, our 4 and a half year old has become very difficult since her new nanny started about a month ago. She has always been a 'challenging' child, but this seems to have become much more accute with the new nanny. Also, our daughter says she doesn't like the new nanny, that she is mean and yells at her. We have known the new nanny for years, as she was nanny for our friends kids before they moved to another country, but we are beginning to wonder -- is it our daughter, or the nanny? Or maybe they just don't click? How long she we give it to work before we give up and get another new nanny? Our daughter does need a lot of discipline - her previous nanny was very lax (which is one of the reasons she is previous and not current). Has anyone else had these types of growing pains? Any advice you can offer on how to figure out what is really going on and how long we should wait to see if it settles down? Our other daughter, who is 2 and a half, doesn't seem to be having any problems adjusting. thanks for any thoughts.
