Health Visitors ...Compulsory?

Hi
So I recieved a message from a health visitor wanting my new home address so they can send out a letter to do a 10month assessment. I cant stand HVs. I find them nosy and pointless
My question is. Can I just ignore them or are these development checks for my baby compulsory
I read they can get suspicious if you refuse their invites which I find ridiculous

No, they are not compulsory, however it is imperative that your baby's progress is monitored and documented, so everything from their weight at regular intervals (to make sure they are thriving) to meeting development milestones. If you do not want them to come to you then you will have to go to them, through local baby clinics.

To you they are a pain in the arse and a pointless waste of time, to some children with incompetent, abusive mothers or living in challenging circumstances they can, in theory, provide access to help. The problem is they don't know if a child needs help if they don't visit. Dont over think it, get the tick in the box and then forget about it.
