Stutter

I think my 2 yr old has a stutter. Most sentences start “ I i i i i i i i i I etc..... it isn’t every time he starts speaking but I’d say over 50% of the time. I’m wondering if this is normal/ developmental (I have an older child who doesn’t stutter and never did this) or I need to seek out a referral to speech therapy ?

I had a stammer all my life, it’s a lot better now but comes and goes.
My daughter is nearly three, I’ve noticed she does something similar, Iiiiii etc, but I’m not at all concerned even though I had a stammer as it just doesn’t seem the same as mine. I literally would have silent pauses where I couldn’t get my words out, they would be stuck. I couldn’t start any sentence without stammering.

At my daughters age, I’m just going to see how she develops. She certainly doesn’t lack confidence and I don’t want to point it out of try and finish her sentences as I think most generally grow out of it. If by the time she starts school I am noticing that it is getting worse, and she’s noticing it, I will definitely get a referral. My point is I wouldn’t worry too much about it at this age. They are still getting there heads around words and what they want to say, and it’s a bit like they are thinking of what is the next word to use and so they repeat the first. I’m sure it’s nothing :)
