12 month old’s development?

My 12 month old DS isn’t doing a lot of the things that I see other babies his age doing - he’s not waving at people or pointing at things yet, and he doesn’t really “show” me toys by holding them up, or hand me objects. My friends’ babies do these things all the time. Should I be worried?

Whereas all babies do develop at different paces, and start to do things at different times, if you have concerns, then it is best to go and have a chat with your HV.

I would say assuming there are no developmental issues, some of these can be trained into them!

If you know the song “wind the bobbin up”, a week of singing it because it wouldn’t leave my head led to DS2 clapping and pointing along to the song. They copy what they see and pick things up very quickly.
