Daughter 5 won't talk...

My daughter is 5 and got a small scratch like but on her elbow tonight but she won't tell us how she got it, she switches between I dont want to tell you and I dont know, she cried when it happened and I think our kitten got her when she picked it up but she is refusing to say even though we assured her that she wont be in trouble and we stayed calm, my only concern with her not telling us is that when she was 1.5 there was an incident with her older brother who was 6, jealousy issues I wont go into and with a big move having taken place less than a year ago i worry, i dont want to think it was him but it is still there in the back of my mind what lengths he went to to get her in trouble.

What should i do? How do i get her to talk?

You sound very anxious. Why are you so worried about a small scratch?

She would not remember anything that happened when she was 1.5 years old, so anything that happened then is incredibly unlikely to be affecting anything that is happening today. It is a small scratch and she doesn't want to tell you what happened, children are stubborn, that's in their nature - they say that you should pick your battles with children and I don't think it's a battle worth fighting.
