Dehydrated newborn?

My DD is 4 weeks old. For about the last week she has done one poo a day. It's very runny and doesn't look seedy anymore. It's more liquidy. Does this sound like diarrhoea? I'm worried she might be dehydrated. She's been very fussy today and I gave just noticed the soft spot on her head looks a little sunken. It's been pretty warm here today.

Also, often when she's feeding she screams every time she comes off the nipple as though in pain, I thought it was wind but now I'm worried it's an allergy which is causing the diarrhoea.

When I was worried DS was dehydrated they said not to go by the soft spot on its own without any other symptoms. Is your DD having lots of wet nappies? If you’re worried take her to a drop in centre and ask a HV. I’d have thought if she had diarrhoea she’d be having more than one dirty nappy a day.

If she’s otherwise happy and alert I’d say she’s okay but best to get checked if you’re worried.

She does seem okay in herself and she's having wet nappies. The soft spot looks normal today so I think I'm just over worrying! Thanks for your response
