Im a single parent of aa 2 year old and im finding it difficult to get anything done she wont even entertain herself while i do the dishes, i have tried to include her but it turns into chaos? Any suggestions on trying to encourage her to play for a short time while mum does something xxx

Hi OP,

DC1 was a bit like this at that age. I set up a little table and chair in the kitchen for her while I needed to do things and bought her play doh, so we chatted while I got things done and she made things. Also an Ikea chalk/white board was a great addition to keep her occupied.

I also tried to do things like cleaning the bathroom while she was in the bath, doing kitchen chores/cooking while she was eating, so in the same room but she was preoccupied.
