Could be any time. I'm afraid it could literally be days, weeks or months.

roffle - who knows - dd did that around the same age, and 8 MONTHS later still isnt walking.

Furrycat - As others said - your guess is as good as anyones - sorry. I know one LO who has been cruising and walking holding onto his Mummy for 4 months now (poor woman )

Pistachio - My DD is the same age and does the same, can't pull up to sitting or standing but can stand on her own a bit and take a few lightly supported steps. Hadn't thought of asking the HV as 2 other babies in our postnatal group are the same. HTH

furrycat - my ds is 10mths and is cruising, walking holding onto a trolley type thingy and can stand independently for a few seconds before he lands on his bum ! all very cute but no idea when he will 'take flight'!

MaeBee · 25/07/2007 13:48

mine started cruising at 8 mths, and his all time best is 20 steps unaided. he's nearly 10 mths. he basically spent every waking second practicing though, hasn't learnt to clap or anything like that yet! i think it depends how obsessed they are!!

MaeBee · 25/07/2007 13:49

ps - cruisemum, hows the sleeping going? mine does good long naps (1 - 2 hrs twice a day) and good at night now too (although wakes about 5.30 but usually sleeps through) think walking helps cos he knackers himself out!

furrycat · 25/07/2007 13:51

Thanks everyone...I loathe the crawling stage...desperate for him to walk by first birthday!

DS pulled up to stand when he was 9.5 months. Walked when he was 15 months. So it could be a while yet....

meandmy · 25/07/2007 13:55

my dd was walking round the furniture at 10 months crawling at 11mo fri 13th 13mo she got up and walked now she running she really steady now
dp thinks 13 lucky perhaps he right.

hopefully he will walk soon as walking lopsided is a pain!

ballybally · 25/07/2007 14:09

It took my DD 4.5 months to go from pulling up to proper walking. Took DS 3 weeks. Both started at around ten months.

MAEBEE- Hi . Sleeping going so well i have to pinch myself . ds has two reliable naps per day totalling 2.5hrs (longer one usually in morning at the mo) and sleeps 11 - 11.5hrs per night. he was waking at around 5:30 - 6am every morning which was a killer but since we returned from a week in devon where our schedule was all thrown out he goes from around 8:15pm to 7:30am which is blissssssss! Well done for you too. Makes such a dramatic difference doesn't it. See ya!
