Hi, my 6yr old DS is currently in the process of being assessed for ADHD & related disorders. Meantime we are really struggling with recurring issues that no matter what we do or say make no lasting change to our son’s behaviourSad The main problems centre around hitting, and social skills e.g. being kind, what is and is not appropriate to say or do when interacting with others, or in certain situations.

He is quite into books and I am wondering if he might take on a message conveyed via a book better than from us.

Therefore if anyone knows of any story books that are aimed at his age that could help with the above issues I’d really appreciate it!! Google/amazon searching is quite hard when you don’t know specific titles and it throws back a lot of parenting type books.

Have a look for social stories - there are lots available free online

Oh, I'd be interested in this too OP. I have a 5 year old who seems to struggle with many social situations - gets over-excited and is quite touchy feely with other kids and overfamiliar with everyone!
