2.4 year old, nappy nightmare!!

Hello, I’m sure this is just a phase but I’m Day 2 and already it’s stressing me out (I’m pregnant so I think hormones aren’t helping) my little boy has never really liked nappy change but he’s always done it when asked, or after a lilttle bit of persuasion, most recently we have been changing his nappy whilst he reads a book or has some stickers to play with. Well 2 days ago it went out the window! I’ve just spent the last 45 minutes trying to change his pooey nappy, poo seems to be the biggest issue.
I’ve used all the techniques, making it fun, not making it a big deal, warnings etc, in the end we did it but he was crying the whole time, something I didn’t want: but it was getting ridiculous.
He usually tells us he’s done a poo and a few times has sat on the potty, I’m worried it’s all going to negatively effect that side of things too: had anyone had this? Or got any tips to assist?

Thank you

It sounds to me like he is ready to start potty training OP. is it possible for you to start trying him with this? take him to the potty every hour, or when he asks to go, and if he does a wee he gets a smartie, poo is 2 smarties and he gets to ring a bell. (dont let him ring this any other time aside from when he has done a poo- it makes it more special!). all the best and congratulations on your pregnancy x

Could you try toilet training now. Not ideal being pregnant but if you have someone to help?

Failing that reward charts?

Ask him why he gets so upset maybe he's currently got pain somewhere making it uncomfortable
