Hope I’m posting this in the correct topic.

6m Old developed a small red rash on his tummy yesterday and then this morning woke to all over his front (stomach), sides going half on the back, neck & some on his cheeks.

Took him to the doctor this morning who thinks it could be allergic reaction to Johnson’s baby oil which I massaged him in on Saturday. She advised to bath him & then apply emoillant (cetraben, eperderm, e45) so I’ve been applying eperderm suitable for baby since afternoon & the rash looks the same.

He’s not going a temperature, feeding well, generally a very happy active baby.

Is it normal to take some time for the rash to go? I’m just getting abit panicked now Sad

Yes, a rash can take a while to heal up. Just keep using the emollient and watch out for any other symptoms. I'm not a doctor but it looks like allergic reaction or eczema to me.

Has he been unwell with cold or similar? My kids would often get post viral rashes which took a while to go. Is he well in himself? If you are concerned go back to GP

DD always had this type of rash even now aged 12 she gets them, even with a slight cold or with no other symptom, doc always says its a viral rash sometimes takes a week or more to go
