2 year old very fussy eater

My 2.5 year old son is a very fussy eater and seems to have got progressively more so since around 18 months. He won't eat fruit but has just started drinking smoothies and dinners are a battle. His diet is limited, he currently opts for dry cereal in the morning, won't eat sandwiches so lunch can be difficult and will eat a limited selection of dinners. He will eat some vegetables particularly sweet corn and peas and usually carrots but refuses potatoes. I am extremely worried about him and we recently came back from a holiday as he seemed to be eating less than usual while away. We managed to get a dr appointment and have need referred to a dietician but not heard back yet. If anyone has any advice I would be extremely grateful or any experience of private dieticians? Thanks in advance Confused
