Did your expectations change when DC turned 3?

DD is about to turn 3. She's an absolute poppet (if strong willed!) and I've enjoyed these toddler years so much.

I know a switch doesn't flick when they turn 3, but I got to wondering if any of my behaviour expectations should change as we head through this new, more grown up age! (I'm using grown up light heartedly, obviously...)

Interested to know other people's behaviour expectations/rules at this age.

This is interesting, my dd is 3.5 and I have previously relied on bribery a lot Blush but have been scaling that down over the last few months as I feel she understands so much more now. I also don't mind letting her know when I'm cross now as I think she understands her actions have consequences.

Still have the same daily battles over brushing teeth/getting dressed though!

Hi, expectations haven't changed as such but we say to her more about being a 'big girl' as she seems to think she's more grown up now she's 3. She gave her dummy up without any battle about a month before her 3rd birthday and I think we'll stop nighttime nappies soon too as she's been dry for a few weeks. So some things are changing but only coincidence it's at the same time as turning 3. Hope that helps x
