Failed second hearing test

My baby is a week old and hasn’t passed her second hearing test today.Has anyone had this happen and what was the outcome of further testing? We haven’t got another appointment for a few weeks as they have said it’s better to check all the mucus from birth has cleared but it means I feel a bit in limbo about the outcome and what support she might then need.

Yes my baby failed second test and I begged the girl to do the third test before we left the hospital on my last day as I was so worried. It took forever as the pads kept popping off but he passed it eventually. Apparently the mucus build up is very common. Xx

My baby failed two as well and passed a week later

Failed the first two, a few weeks later she passed. She was born by ceasarean and we were told this often happens as the mucus doesn't get squeezed out going down the birth canal like a normal delivery.

It’s not unusual for this to happen and it may be that your baby was restless so the traces weren’t clear. It’s easier said than done but try not to worry as next time they should hopefully obtain results and be able to give you a clearer idea of what’s going on.

Mine also failed the first two and passed the third. Hers was a very fast vaginal birth, I was told this is common as the mucus isn’t squeezed out when they pop out fast.

Thanks everyone for replying,I am feeling better now about waiting to see what happens as I can see that if it is mucus it needs time to clear.
