Baby HATES buggy

Hey

Not sure this is the right section but 6 mo really hates their buggy. I’ve tried:

Forward facing
Facing me
Seated position
Lying flat
Taking them out in it when tired so he sleeps
Taking them out in it when well rested so he isn’t overtired etc
Toys to entertain
Dummy

He also hates the car seat

He gets so hysterical and screams and screams. He is totally fine the second I take him out.

He’s never really liked it (has always needed a dummy in it) and I mostly use an Ergo baby carrier to avoid the shocked looks of people who think I’m torturing my child. I don’t mind carrying him at all - it’s way easier for me to go places however it’s getting warmer and it makes me and him very hot when he is attached to me. Plus, he is getting heavier and whilst my back is totally fine I have a long-standing knee issue which is aggravated by the extra weight.

His reaction is so extreme it’s making me really sad because I’ve tried everything.

Any ideas? Anyone been through similar?

Afraid I don't have much advice but just wanted to reply and say I have a very similar situation!

DS is coming up to 4 months and sounds much like yours - he screams himself into oblivion when in either the car seat or buggy! He has recently been a bit calmer in the buggy but absolutely despises the car seat, gets himself into a right state!

I tried one of those mirrors on the back seat headrest but doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I'm not sure if it's because he can't see me...who knows?!

But just wanted to sympathise - it certainly makes getting out and about quite restrictive as I hate people hearing him scream when I've done everything I can to make sure he's ok! I currently have a Moby wrap which he's happy in but think I'll have to upgrade soon to something more structured as he gets bigger.

Same here, DS hated the buggy, he would wriggle and lean over the sides all the time - I thought maybe our buggy was not very comfortable for him, but tried friends buggy's from other brands and it was the same. Like yours he also liked to be carried on a carrier (in my case it was a babybjorn carrier), and then when he was 12M and strong enough to sit and hold on I put him into a trike and he loved it, made all the difference and allowed us to get out of the house and whiz around the shops with happy faces :) (buggy has been in storage ever since).

Have you tried a tablet with kids song videos?

No advice, but same. Hates high chair, car seat, buggy (we have 3 different ones).

Always has! And there is no sign of him getting any better with them at 11 months old.
