This could be a PFB non-issue, and I wasn’t actually worried until today when some old lady in my village noticed it and commented ‘isn’t that a bit worrying’ when on a walk!
My DD is almost 5 months old. She has basically zero interest in toys/general objects at all. She can grab and hold things, but just briefly shoved them in her mouth and then drops them. This is what she was doing when the old lady was trying to get her to play with her Freddie Firefly that’s all attached to the pram.
She can only roll to her side, detests tummy time with the fire of a thousand suns and rarely is content to be still in any position for long other than in her pram watching the world go by.
She has average head control, but can’t sit unaided yet - still needs ‘caging’ gently at rib level to prevent toppling. She has recently learnt to bear weight on her legs when held under her arms and now that’s basically all she wants to do when on a lap.
My concern is that her dislike for laying under her playmat/sitting in her bouncer/in her Jumperoo for more than a few minutes at a time is restricting her development in terms of imaginative play. It’s also leading her to be very bored all the time unless people watching!
So I guess I’m asking if this sounds on the spectrum of normal? At what age did your babies get interested in toys?
The hot weather has been a nightmare; have had messages from friends with babies of similar ages laughing on swings and sitting in the garden playing happily while ours was only happy being walked round and round the garden and later the village 🙈
