When did you all start weaning and what are your stories? :)

Jack is 4 months now... I'm not thinking of doing it now but probably soon as he's a very very hungry baby. He takes 6oz feeds every 3 hours and cries when bottle is finished but HV said 7oz is too much for his belly yet.

Did anyone wean early? I know it's supposed to cause allergies so don't want to start any earlier than what's fine to

I had a hungry little boy too :)

However, rest assured that milk (whether that's formula or breast milk) is far, far more nutritious and filling than the tiny amount of solid food that a small baby could consume and digest. Milk is packed with fats and vitamins and carbs - a few spoons of baby porridge or puree won't really make any difference to how hungry he is.

Babies are designed to feed little and often. Three hourly is just fine. It might even be that he needs the cuddles and comfort as much as the milk.

My DC were breastfed so I have no idea how much they ever drank. I just fed them pretty much whenever they wanted to for as long as they wanted. Can you be led by your DS and put a bit more milk in his bottles. Don't try to encourage him to finish a bottle, give him plenty of breaks and see whether he really does want more.

It could be teething, developmental leaps or anything really making him want to feed more often.

It's really important to try to wait until closer to 6 months if you can.
