Hi,
I have an 11 month old son who has been very on and off since 8 months with waking up crying in the night. He won’t re settle himself and wakes up crying to the point of screaming. I go into his room and check him, change his nappy if it needs it and hold him until he’s calmed down. I then try to put him back down to which he starts screaming. I don’t want to start any bad habits of him falling asleep in my arms but he won’t even do that! He wriggles and cries and won’t settle for me at all. I sometimes give him calpol if I think he’s teething but I can be up for four hours in the night until he gets to tired and gives up. I’ve just started back at work and need a full nights sleep myself!

Just to add that around 20 days in the month he does sleep through the night and can get himself to sleep without any comforters.

He has around two hours sleep in the day split between at morning and afternoon nap both an hour each, sometimes less. He goes to bed at 7 after his bedtime routine which he’s had since he was 8 weeks old.

Could it be hunger? Have you tried giving him milk?

I’ve tried milk, he wakes up anytime between 11pm and 4am and it’s not every night, but when he wakes it can be for a few nights in a row then go back to sleeping through the night
