Separation anxiety 1 year old

Hi, my DS is 14 months and I’ve just returned to work part time from maternity leave. He’s cared for by his grandma one day and his nanny two days, so both familiar people, although I admit I didnt leave him often when I was off work.

On the one day I drop him at grandmas he apparently cries for a minute and then is fine. On the two days I drop him at his nanny’s he cries extremely and eventually settles down but takes longer.

Does anyone have any tips for making things easier for him? It’s been 5 weeks now (3 mornings a week) and the crying seems to be getting worse rather than better 😔.

And why does he seem to settle better with one grandmother than the other?! I feel sad to think he prefers one when they’re both so good with him!

How does the Grandma seem to be coping? Is she enjoying having him? Does she take him out at all? Leaving something that smells of you might help too Smile
