Called to school office

Got a call from school asking if I’ll go to school office on wed. No details just that it’s about my youngest. She has been getting into trouble at school and in clubs. I’m suspecting she has sensory issues but not sure. Her teacher did mention she’d been spitting in class and when I ask her about it she says she feels she has something strange in her mouth like bugs etc. She says she gets a headache in class as it’s toon noisy.

One day a boy said she had a spider on her trousers to which she proceeded to pull gown her trousers in the playground. Asked her why and said she could feel the spider down her trousers. Then she cries hysterically.

Today asked her why I’ve been called to the headmasters office but she reckons others are trying to get her into trouble and laughing at her. Sounds like she got to hysterical point and was sent to head teachers office. When she walks to the bus she says there’s something in her shoe when there isn’t and I asked her about it and she says it feels like she has an extra toe!

Other than that she’s been getting into trouble for running out of clubs. Sounds like she is going into fight flight mode and panicking but not sure if it’s a problem she needs help with or whether she is naughty. At home she’s fine and is reasonably well behaved. I’m looking into sensory processing disorder but don’t know how to get her assessed as I hear gps are not sure it exists! Any experience?

Sounds like she is going into fight flight mode and panicking but not sure if it’s a problem she needs help with or whether she is naughty. like you, I'm tempted to think that this is something she needs support for rather than fading naughty.

I'm not sure how you would get her assessed either, but hopefully someone will be along soon.

What’s her age? Did you saw this ‘ hysterical ‘ crying at home? Is she new to school?

Hi no she isn’t new to the school. She’s 6. The school are getting her assessed but are separating behaviour from her. At home we have no problems. Seems she is obsessed by one toilet. Someone went into her’toilet’ and started banging on the door for this other child to come out. When they didn’t she tried to drag her out underneath by the feet. Afterward she got so hysterical they had to put her in the assistants head office to calm down. At gym today she felt she was failing. Came to gym to see her being manhandled to stop her fleeing the gym hall. Scary.
