How to build confidence in DD1 3 years old

I am really worried about DD1, she is 3 years old and in familiar situations she is a vibrant outgoing, and funny little girl. However, in situations where I take her to toddler groups, she does not participate unless she is on my lap, and I am sitting right next to her, even though other mothers have left their kids for the toddler group and gone shopping.

She does go to Nursery, and that is also touch and go, sometimes she is fine at drop off, other times she cries for 2 mins, and then is completely fine.

I am really stuck, I praise her loads, take her out loads, go to toddler groups, and also stay at home and do lots of activities at home, painting and gardening.

Any advice please, or any one else in the same situation

v worried mother.

take a deep breath and relax - all she is telling you is that sometimes she feels secure in a particular situation and sometimes she needs to know you are close by. All absolutely normal. Don't compare her to other children as they are all different - she might have plenty of confidence and just need some patience from you!
