Hi, my little boy is just 7 and in Y2 at school, generally a happy little man. However, he's never slept in his own bed, and when he goes to bed, I have to sit with him until he's fallen asleep after our reading. I've tried the tough love approach, but he wake's most nights checking i'm still with him. His sleep is appalling and always has been, however it's at a whole new level, he wont be a foot from me and refuses to be alone at any point. Anyone any advice?
His constant talking in class and not listening to his teacher is now becoming a problem. His teacher has moved him and basically said what can she do when he wont look at her when she's giving instructions to him, and never listens to her. I get lip service from the school and dont know what to do, HELP please

I think you may need to speak to your GP and ask for a referral to a Paediatrician for an assessment OP.

Does the school have a SENCO who you could talk to?

Lots of children, particularly those with ASD, find it easier to listen to someone if they aren't having to make eye-contact at the same time. Eye contact can be an unpleasant experience and forcing yourself to continue with it can make it impossible to process language and thought.

It sad that this isn't something all teachers are well aware of these days.
