Sensory Processing Disorder or Anxious child?

Hi all my DD is 2.

Bit of background, DD was quite a grumpy baby but at about a year become a lot more happy and content.

Never had a problem with other children till recently, won’t go near another a child, she just screams and runs the other way. Previously she’s been fine but wouldn’t let another child touch her.

She doesn’t like the sound of any form of white noise (but sleeps to it at night)

Won’t ever climb anything without me, go down a slide without me or me holding my hand... other toddlers seem to be fearless!

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Ah my DS won't go down a slide since about 2, so don't panic . He might do a small one, if I hold his hand but it's more a confidence thing. He is very much a thinker and observes then might join in and try. So I think it's his personality.

Risk aversion is not unusual.

My DS has gained confidence of late, he's 2.5 now. We been going to soft play and I've been trying to get him to do it himself more.

The children thing - is she going through a mine phase?

Has she had her two year check? It's usually about 27months. You could flag the children issue to your health vistor and see what they think.

Thankyou, I do think a confidence thing could be what it is which I suppose has its benefits!

Yeah I’m not sure if that’s what it is a little bit... she’ll see a child playing with a toy and tantrum and scream and run to me as she wants to play with it.
