18 month old sleeping problem

My DD is waking during the night, she sometimes wakes and crys out and wont go back to sleep till i go in. I would have to do this 5-6 time to get her to go back to sleep. I have given dozol and that does the trick sometimes.
Is there anyone that has had this problem? (which i am sure there is) and how did you solve it? (or can it be solved)
Any tips at all would be a great help.

How does she go to sleep in the evening?

Are you in with her?

MINNIE1 · 08/07/2007 12:33

She goes to bed no problem, goes to bed 8-9. She would wake around 1-3 for about an hour on a bad night.

Nap would be early in the day 12-2

have you tried controller crying? we had to do it with our dd when she was about 20 months as she had got into the habit of waking and couldnt get back off again on her own. It is very important for them to know how to get off again without mum or dad being there. It can be a hard thing to leave your baby crying, but it does work. It might take a few days to crack but it will work. Im not saying leave them all night to cry, I would say 5 minutes (acually time it), then slightly longer next time.

Thank you ELMTREE,
The only problem is i have a DD 7mos aswell and it can wake her in the night. Both DD are in there own rooms.

A suggestion would be 1 of the baby monitors that have a 'talk' feature.
