Is this cluster feeding?

Long post but thank you for your advice in advance!

My baby boy is five days old and we've spent the first week in the hospital as he had a lung infection. He is finally almost better and we have cracked breastfeeding after a bit of a shaky start due to the infection.

We had a couple of days early on when we supplemented with donated milk to help him get better and then we went to pumping alongside breastfeeding. Today is the first day that we have (almost) exclusively put him to the breast to feed and I think he is cluster feeding but I'm not sure so I would appreciate some advice! This is how his feeding has gone so far today:

10mls at 00:00 - pumped
Latched consistently strong suck for 4 minutes at 00:15
Latched consistently on each side for 5 minutes each - 03:45
Latched consistently strong suck 15 minutes LB - 4:35am
Latched on/off 10 minutes RB 05:10
25mls at 8am - pumped
Latched consistently strong suck for 17 minutes at 8:15am
Latched strong suck for total of 6 minutes RB at 10:00
Latched strong suck for 15 minutes on RB at 10:30am
Latched strong suck for 8 minutes on LB at 1:30pm
Latched on/off for 20 minutes on both boobs at 15:50
Latched strong suck for 15 minutes on RB at 16:09
Latched strong sucks for 4 minutes on LB at 16:30
Latched strong sucks for 3 minutes on RB at 19:00
Latched strong sucks for 5 minutes on LB at 19:30
Latched semi consistently for 9 minutes on LB at 19:40
Latched semi consistently for 6 minutes on RB at 20:00
Latched consistently for 6 minutes on LB at 20:30

I just want some reassurance that he is getting enough milk feeding like this! His weight is good and we are getting wet and dirty nappies.

Hi congratulations on your baby boy! Lovely that you’ve been able to come home. My Dd is 7 months now and has been ebf. She went through phases of cluster feeding, we had one night each week for the 1st 3 weeks there I had no sleep at all. She just wanted to feed the entire time! It was hard going at the time but it doesn’t last long. She also used to throw up a lot which was hard work (tummy muscles still developing). Like your son she gained weight well so there we no concerns. It’s easier said than done but try not to worry and just let it all wash over you. Just keep putting him on the boob if it keeps him happy. It is hard not knowing how much milk they’re getting but after another weigh in I’m sure you feel more confident 😊. Hope it all goes well x

Sounds like the first few days/nights with my son as a newborn. As long as his latching continues to be more consistent then I think it sounds fine. Once your milk is more established and he is more confident feeding then feeds should become longer but less frequent (that was my experience at least!)
