DS is 17 months and we still haven't had mum or dad yet? He has hearing check up soon but strong family history of autism he has no other signs so may be shitting myself for no reason

20-24 months? My 4 are late speakers.

It would not be concerning for an infant to start saying mama and dada (consistently and with intent to draw attention) around 18-22M, though it can start much earlier.

Well fudge the surveys says it could be autism so need to make an appointment

I wouldn't worry just yet - some of the above surveys are best taken from 18M. Is your DS pointing at all? to request or to things in the distance or pictures in books?

So I thought I'd do an update he's doing most things on the checklist apart from saying mummy 😂 he can now say grandad. He's got a hearing test booked on the 2nd but I think he's just lazy when it's something he wants then he's fine but if it's me he just gurns to get my attention
