6 week old grunting

My Son is 6 weeks old today - and after every feed he grunts and strains for a good 15 minutes before settling off to sleep, he doesn't really seem to struggle getting wind up, so I kind of wrote that off but I'm starting to think it could be now. I've just started him on infant gaviscon as he suffers with reflux and I wonder if that is causing him to strain more :( I'm a first time mum and don't want to waste doctors time for no reason. He has his 6week by HV on Wednesday so I will mention it then to her I just want to help him as it sounds like he's really uncomfortable 😣 thanks in advance x

Hey, did the grunting start after you started infant gaviscon? We gave it to my son for only 2 days before we stopped it. By the second day his poos were like hard bits of straw and he screeched all day. He was then back to normal once we stopped it. We are under paediatric care because of low weight and out peadiatrition didn't seem to have anything good to say about infant gaviscon and mentioned it's usually best to use it only when the adverse effects it causes outweigh the issues caused by reflux. For us it didn't. X
