Potty training problems with 3 year old DS......help

Hi, it's all been said before I'm sure, but I'm getting to the point where I need some advice.

I have just started potty training my (almost) 3 year old DS. He's my eldest of 2 boys, so it's all new to me.

Well, he loves his potty....too much. He will not get off the thing.
It's getting to the point where he has a big red mark around his bum from sitting down so long.
I've tried distraction with play....nothing works!

The other thing is, he won't wear pants. This is a little disheartening as we went out especially and bought "Thomas" pants that he chose, and they weren't cheap!

He just gets worked up and angry, and I just don't know what to do.

There haven't been many accidents yet, but he barely gives himself 2 mins off the potty at a time.

Any advice...please?
Thank you

I'd say, let him sit on it if he wants to, he'll soon get bored. Don't push the pants issue - just put them away for a bit.

Thanks.
I might try and see what happens with no pants.
I wish they did instructions!
