Toddler (22months) KEEPS getting ill!!

My 22 month old DD keeps getting infections! Chest infections, ear infections, throat infections, colds, 'toddler' flu and all sorts of different viruses!!

She goes to nursery 3 days a week and playgroups on Mondays and Fridays, she has always been round lots of other kids and until recently she has only had the odd illness.

Just before Xmas she was in hospital repeatedly with a mystery infection/virus that was causing insane temperatures, and various flu symptoms. Now she has another chest infection (she had a chest ear and throat infection in November).

We live in a clean house, in the country with loads of fresh air. The nursery is very clean (for a nursery) so I don't think that is the problem.

Has Anyone else got any experience with this? My mum keeps suggesting giving my DD probiotics after her course of antibiotics to try and sort out the bacteria in her gut, but I don't know if that would help really?

Just want her to be happy and healthy 😩😩

I think it sounds pretty normal for a 3 yo who goes to Nursery, unfortunately. The probiotics won’t hurt and lots of MNers swear by them Smile

Next time you’re at the GP, it might be worth asking to have her iron levels checked as aneamia can lower immunity.
